“The Blood Sisters are a combination of 3 deliciously talented singer / songwriters whose combined vocals blend into beautiful harmonies taking you on a musical journey exposing personal stories of past loves and life.”
Terri Ray, WKLT-FM
Blood Sisters began when Barbara Payton, Michelle Chenard and Mary McGuire met up as individual performers at the 2009 Mackinac Island Music Festival.
They got together in the fall of 2010 for a one-off show on Mackinac Island during the winter, without any rehearsals. They found common interests both onstage and off, sharing in charitable and activist roles and philosophies on feminism and empowering women. Not to mention learning they weaned themselves on the same musical influences: Led Zeppelin, Heart, Allman Brothers, Beatles, Bob Seger, Grand Funk Railroad, CSNY, Carpenters, Linda Ronstadt, The Pretenders, Joan Jett, Bette Midler, Joni Mitchell, Lou Reed, Alice Cooper, MC5, Iggy Pop, Bonnie Raitt, Tedeschi Trucks and well, the list goes on.
